Madison Copeland’s star continues to shine as World Lacrosse announced today her nomination for World Games Athlete of the Year 2019.

Coming off a phenomenal year of accomplishment including a bronze medal and World Team inclusion at the 2019 U19 Women’s World Championship plus the 2019 Shelley Maher Trophy for the fairest and best female lacrosse player in Australia, you could be mistaken to think Madison had left no lacrosse award untouched.

The IWGA Athlete of the Year sees 25 athletes across 25 different sports nominated by their International Federations to compete in an online vote to be crowned 2019 World Athlete of the Year.

World Games Athlete of the Year: How to vote

Voting begins at 11pm (AWST) 8 January 2020.

How to vote: https://www.theworldgames.org/awards/Athlete-of-the-Year-2019-70 You can vote for your candidate once every 24 hours. First, give two votes to your favourite candidate by clicking on their “Vote” button. Then, to make your vote count, click on the “Vote” button of your second favourite candidate which will then receive one vote.

From Monday 20th January 2020 at 16:00 CET, only the 10 highest ranked candidates at that time will continue in the race. They will keep the votes earned by then.

Voting ends on Thursday, 30 January 2020. The winner and runners-up will be announced on 30th January 2020.
